excellence, experience, professionalism

The Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) is the governing body of professional windsurfing worldwide. Since 1996 there have been over 80 Professional Windsurfing events, in over 35 different locations, all governed, overseen and managed by the PWA. The events range from extreme wave action on tropical, Pacific paradises like Fiji and Maui, to massive Race and Freestyle spectaculars for the public on Germany's North Sea coast and lakesides in Austria. All in all, there are between 200 to 300 members of the association at any one time, from as far a field as New Zealand or Hawaii, to Finland or Norway.

The PWA represents excellence in windsurfing. Its current and past members constitute the very best windsurfers in the world. The PWA is made up of the sailors who represent the sport at the highest level of competition, we strive to improve everyday and make windsurfing better for everyone.

The PWAorganizes and sanctions professional events, and is respected as the pinnacle of windsurfing performance worldwide. It is the sole ISAF license holder for “World Cup” windsurfing events. The PWA makes new rules for the sport, helps promote grass roots growth, strengthens the bonds of friendship between existing associations, classes and disciplines of windsurfing and to provide support and services for all windsurfers. The above all goes to serve the prime objectives of the PWA, to promote the sport of windsurfing, make it accessible to the public and provide a fair and level platform for international competition.
