sharing in the dream

Besides being a radical action sport, windsurfing is a way of life. The windsurfing lifestyle comprises various elements that many aspire to, but few actually get to live out. Most if not all of these aspects of the sport are represented in thePWAworld tour. First and foremost, windsurfing is about beachlife. Life on the tour and for windsurfers in general largely takes place on the world's greatest beaches in the relaxed atmosphere that comes with them. No stress and maximum fun is what it's all about. Beachlife is a healthy outdoor lifestyle, close to nature and away from the hectic chaos of everyday life.

Windsurfing can be practiced alone or together with others, which makes it a unique blend of individualism and team sport. While sailing is always more fun with friends to show off to, every windsurfer still decides by him- or herself which wave to catch or what jump to make. Nobody tells them what to do or where to go. Freedom. The feeling of being out there on a board and sail flying inverted over the waves or simply cruising along the shoreline is one of true liberty. Ask any windsurfer and they will tell you a good windsurfing session makes you forget about everything else.
Finding great windsurfing spots involves a lot of travelling. The search for the world's biggest waves and strongest winds leads windsurfers to far off locations such as Hawaii, South Africa, Australia and Fiji; sometimes to locations where people have never seen foreigners, let alone people riding the waves on sailboards. Therefore, windsurfing is about adventure; venturing out into the great unknown. Every wave is different, no two days of sailing are the same. The offbeat locations, attempting to harness the elements and flying high and fast over the water makes windsurfing one of the most challenging sports around, attracting adventurous people from around the world.
