Subjcet The 2015 Ulsan PWA..Day 5
The 2015 Ulsan PWA World Cup - Day 5
Current discipline: Slalom
Note: This liveticker automatically updates every couple of minutes if ticker is online!

And that's it for today. After four days of waiting, the thermal winds finally came through and delivered the goods and then some. With two eliminations for both the men and the women in the bag, we're moving into the final day of the event tomorrow. The forecast looks like it could be windy again, although it's said to be a bit lighter and it will also be cloudy which doesn't help the thermals. But, you never know. Maybe there will still be some changes in the rankings. Stay tuned for the full reports, official rankings and highlight video later today from the 2015 Ulsan PWA World Cup. Thanks for tuning in and we'll be back tomorrow for hopefully more slalom action at Jinha Beach.

13:34 Red flag is up for men's heat no. 1. Four minutes to go.

13:23 We're going to rerun men's heat 1 and 2. All sailors that are not in those heats are now asked to leave the water as to keep the wind disturbance on the course to an absolute minimum.

13:19 The Z flag is up, which means the sailors are sent back to the beach until the wind fills in. It's frustrating as it's more than windy enough in the gusts, but there's just too many holes on the course to run a fair contest.

13:14 Men's heat 2 starting sequence has been cancelled.

13:12 And the heat is cancelled again at the second mark as the sailors hit a wind hole and stalled. We're going to the resail of heat no.2.

13:00 Men's heat no. 2 features Pierre Mortefon (Fanatic/North Sails), Maciek Rutkowski (Patrik/Point-7), Ludovic Jossin (Patrik/GA Sails), Tomas Malina (Fanatic/North Sails), Mateus Isaac (Starboard/NeilPryde), Greg Thomas (Starboard/North Sails) and Hiroshi Hasegawa (RRD/MauiSails). It's looking windy, but a little gusty too. Around 7-15 knots.

12:59 Heat cancelled. Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (Starboard/Point-7) was in the the lead with Julien Quentel (RRD/NeilPryde) chasing him in second. But the wind didn't hold. We're straight into heat number 2. With a resail of men's 1 after that.

12:57 And we're away with a good start!

12:55 The starting sequence for men's heat no. 1 has started.

12:45 We're on. The sailors in men's heat no.1 are sent to the start line.

12:30 Plenty of sailors out now as the race committee is checking the conditions around the course. It's starting to look better and better, but officially we're not quite there yet. Stay tuned.

12:05 Correction, we're going on standby. First possible start no sooner than 12:15.

12:00 It's getting a little better and the first guys are out testing the conditions. We're moving to 15-15 announcements. Next call at 12:15, first possible start at 12:30.

11:30 No significant change here. The wind's still there, so next call is at 12:00, with a first possible start at 12:15.

11:00 The breeze is still up, cross on from the right. Not strong enough to race though, so next announcement is at 11:30, first possible start at 12:00.

10:00 Good morning and welcome to the penultimate day of the 2015 Ulsan PWA World Cup. It's sunny, it's warm, which means we've got the right ingredients for the predicted thermal wind to come through this afternoon. There's a light breeze out there already at the moment, but for the funnel effect to really kick in, the wind needs to drop first before it can come back full force. We've just finished the skipper's meeting and next call will be at 11:00, first possible start at 11:30. Fingers crossed.
